Brooklyn Buyer Resources

Congratulations!! It’s a big (and sometimes overwhelming step) to decide you want to buy a home. It’s easy to think that finding the right home is the first step. Realistically, buyers who get their house in order (see what I did there) have more success before starting the search in earnest. This way, you’re prepared to buy your home instead of the emotional turmoil of missing out.

Three steps to prepare:

  1. Preparing your financials- speak with professionals regarding pre-approval, understand blindspots in your finances, and set a budget.

  2. Identify & interview an agent- a buyer’s agent is your advocate. Understanding the role and taking the time to assess before you are sprinting for an accepted offer will lead to a positive outcome.

  3. Market survey- start to explore the range of options available in your budget; this is initial research before getting specific on the house you want to buy.

Included below are resources to help with all three of those steps! If you’ve ever got questions, don’t hesitate to reach out: katie.johnson@corcoran.com
