Things to Do This Weekend with Your Kids Thanksgiving & Thanksgiving Weekend
Kids Activities for November 28th-December 1st
They are open on Thanksgiving until 3pm! With the rainy weather, this is an essential and enticing option.
Zoo or Aquarium
All of the NYC Zoos and Aquariums are open on Thanksgiving. This may be a bit of a harder option with the rain in the forecast but if it lightens up maybe sneak to the Coney Island Aquarium or Prospect Park Zoo.
If you’re looking for an activity on Friday, Luna Luna is open at The Shed. A friend recently visited and shared that it is great for families of all ages. You’re near potentially busy Hudson Yards
Head to 5th Avenue on Saturday afternoon for the Park Slope Tree Lighting.
Movies
A few great options this Thanksgiving for families- the bigger challenge is if you can get tickets!
Moana 2 and Wicked are both out. Nitehawk has the most availability when I checked but there are a few front row seats at Alamo Drafthouse.
Ice Skating
Most ice skating rinks are open on Thanksgiving. Lefrak Center is covered from the elements but there is a walk from the road. Brookfield Place is a friends favorite- that ice skating rink is closed though.
It will be chilly but sunny for Friday and Saturday. This is a fun festive option that may have less tourists then venturing into Manhattan. There are packages available for pictures with Santa too.
